Manatee Memorial Hospital Celebrates Three Champions at 11th Annual Champions of Healthcare Awards

Liz Brown, Diane Aubrey, and the Heart and Vascular Center Named Champions of Healthcare

Manatee Memorial Hospital is proud to celebrate three extraordinary honorees who were recognized at the Manatee Chamber of Commerce’s 11th Annual Champions of Healthcare Awards. This annual event honors individuals and organizations making a significant impact in healthcare through leadership, innovation, and compassionate service.

This year, Manatee Memorial is honored to have winners in three key categories:

Liz Brown, Director of Rehabilitation, was named the Champion in the Allied Health Professional category. With a focus on improving outcomes and expanding services, Liz has been instrumental in enhancing the hospital’s rehabilitation offerings. Under her leadership, the multidisciplinary pediatric therapy program has flourished—providing specialized care to children facing challenges such as cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, autism spectrum disorder, and eating difficulties. Liz’s dedication to both her patients and her team reflects her unwavering commitment to quality care and community support.

In the Nurse category, Diane Aubrey, ARNP, was recognized for her exceptional contributions to patient care. Known for her clinical expertise and deep compassion, Diane consistently advocates for the well-being of underserved populations. Her leadership, empathy, and tireless dedication make her a trusted provider and an inspiring role model within the hospital and beyond.

Manatee Memorial’s Heart and Vascular Center received top honors in the Innovation/Research category for its leadership in advanced cardiovascular care. Renowned for offering a full range of services—including coronary bypass surgery, valve replacement, carotid artery stenting, and advanced arrhythmia treatments—the Center, continues to raise the bar for heart care in the region. Most recently, the Heart and Vascular Center was recognized for achieving its 2,000th Watchman™ procedure, a minimally invasive treatment for atrial fibrillation (AFib) that significantly reduces the risk of stroke. This milestone places the program among the top ten in the nation for total Watchman™ placements.

“We are so proud to honor Liz, Diane, and the entire Heart and Vascular Center team,” said Andy Guz, CEO of Manatee Memorial Hospital. “These individuals exemplify the highest level of excellence in healthcare. Their work not only transforms lives but also strengthens the fabric of our community.”

Manatee Memorial Hospital extends its congratulations to all the 2025 Champions of Healthcare honorees and expresses gratitude to the Manatee Chamber of Commerce for recognizing those who go above and beyond in healthcare every day.
