State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) and the State College of Florida Foundation are hosting a free Maverick’s Rhythm & Rave from 3:30-7 p.m. Saturday, March 15 at SCF Venice, 8000 S. Tamiami Trl. at the Performance Pavilion. The fun, outdoor, family-friendly event is open to the public.
According to SCF Foundation Vice President of Advancement and Executive Director Cassandra Holmes, this is the fourth annual Maverick’s Rhythm & Rave celebration, with last year’s event drawing more than 450 people.
“The college opens its campus for the greater community to come and enjoy an evening of live music, dancing, carnival games, exhibits, food, drink, festivities and our beloved mascot, Maverick the Manatee. We invite you to bring the entire family and join in the fun.”
Maverick the Manatee invites you to enjoy featured performers and activities, including the Phoenix 5 Live Band, DJ Grand Groove, bounce houses, interactive photo booths, face painting, games and activities, food vendors, raffles and lots more fun! The Phoenix 5 Live Band is a funk, soul and reggae collective comprised of some of central Florida’s most seasoned musicians.
Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets to the event, which is appropriate for all ages. Food and beverages will be available for purchase, and free parking will be available in Parking Lot F.
