“Stay Golden”

Island Gallery and Studios proudly presents our Featured Artist for February— Artist Sue Elliott

Title: Stay Golden

Dates: Saturday, February 1 — Friday, 28, 2025 with First Friday Artist Reception, February 7

This February, we are excited to present “Stay Golden,” a glowing exhibit by Sue Elliott. Showcasing a variety of subjects tied together by her use of gold leafing, Sues work highlights the interplay of light and texture in fresh and captivating ways.

Originally from the UK, Sue moved to Florida in 2002. Living by the coast has been a constant source of inspiration, sparking a wealth of creative ideas reflected in her art. She works with a variety of mediums, including oils, acrylics, pastels, pencils, resin, and clay. Her versatility and passion for experimentation shine through in every piece.

Sue began using metallic leafing several years ago and remains enchanted by its ability to transform her work. She loves how light interacts with the gold leaf, creating dynamic effects that change depending on the viewers perspective. In addition to her featured pieces, Sue also offers commissioned artwork.

We invite you to our First Friday Artist Reception Feb 7, from 5-7 pm  to view “Stay Golden” and meet Sue Elliott. Bring your friends and mingle with our artists while taking in the fine art works and enjoying beverages and small bites. As a special treat, our local celebrity musician, Chip Ragsdale will be there to provide live music.

Meet the Artist — “Stay Golden” will run from February 1 to February 28. Come join us and meet Sue at the opening reception on Friday, February 7. Don’t miss this luminous display!
