Artist Theme: Beachy Breezes

Charlotte Sorsen has worked in various art forms for as long as she can remember.  She studied in Boston at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts and at the New England School of Art and Design.  Although painting is her first love, Charlotte has also worked in glass making, lamp-worked glass beads, jewelry and clothing design. 

Charlotte paints to express her joy of the magic of the Gulf waters, as well as the skies, clouds, birds, and flora. She strives to capture the vision of what she observes, and she encourages others to appreciate the things they are looking at, such as the patterns in the sand, the clouds blooming on the horizon, and close-ups of birds talking to each other. Before she knows it, a painting becomes a story.

Charlotte says, “As a local Florida artist, I am mesmerized by the colors of the Gulf, the diversity of birds and the swaying palms…it all helps to keep the paint brush wet!”

Come join us for our First Friday Artist Reception Jan 3, from 5-7 pm and meet Charlotte Sorsen. Bring your friends and mingle with our artists while taking in the fine art works and enjoying beverages and small bites. As a special treat, our local celebrity musician, Chip Ragsdale will be there to provide live music.

We are located at 456 Old Main Street in downtown Bradenton. Gallery hours are 10 am to 5 pm, Tuesday through Saturday and 10 am to 4 pm, Sunday. Street parking, as well as free parking in the nearby public parking ramp, is available.
