This October, Island Gallery and Studios is delighted to present Reimagine and Imagination: Photography and Paper Mache, a captivating collaborative exhibition showcasing the imaginative works of Joe Dombroski and Tom Goldman. The exhibit runs from Wednesday, October 1 through Friday, October 31, 2025.
Joe Dombroski, a seasoned photojournalist with over 42 years of experience, brings a fresh perspective to the world of photography through his Popcorn Project. After an award-winning career with the St. Petersburg Times, Gannett, and NEWSDAY, Joe shifted his lens from traditional media to the artistic realm, focusing on transforming everyday objects into visual stories. His latest work invites viewers to reimagine the ordinary as extraordinary.
Tom Goldman, a retired attorney based in Palmetto, Florida, now devotes his time to sculpting with paper mache. A former law professor and practitioner with degrees from the University of Mississippi and NYU, Tom has turned his attention to storytelling through art. His whimsical, handcrafted sculptures reflect a deep sense of wonder and creativity—each piece crafted to evoke smiles and spark imagination.
Together, Joe and Tom blend photographic insight with playful sculpture, offering visitors a unique and whimsical experience that celebrates curiosity, creativity, and the unexpected beauty in everyday life. Don’t miss this enchanting exhibition that promises to delight art lovers of all ages.
