Island Gallery and Studios Offers Confidence-Boosting Art Class for Beginners

For those who believe they can’t draw a stick figure, Island Gallery and Studios is proving otherwise—one brushstroke at a time.

The downtown Bradenton gallery has launched a welcoming new class for beginning artists called Paint with a Pro, designed to guide participants through the process of completing a small acrylic painting in just 2½ hours. The goal: build confidence, spark creativity, and show newcomers that art is for everyone.

Instructor Darryl Goldman leads the monthly sessions, which begin with a pre-sketched canvas board to ease the pressure of drawing.  Students learn to use acrylics, explore composition and color, and most importantly—have fun doing it.”

All materials are provided, including canvas boards, brushes, and paints. Each month features a new painting project, giving students a fresh opportunity to learn and grow. The class fee is $50, with all proceeds supporting Island Gallery and Studios, located at 456 12th Street W., Bradenton.

Goldman says the most common reaction he hears after class is: “I never knew I had it in me!”—a testament to the transformative power of hands-on creativity.
