During the month of November, Island Gallery and Studios is pleased to present Feather and Fin / Camera and Clay, a collaborative exhibition featuring the inspired work of Kathy Storm and Susan Swanson.
Kathy Storm, a self-taught Wildlife and Nature Photographer, brings to the exhibition her keen eye for the natural world. Her creative journey spans multiple mediums including stained glass, painting, mosaics, and wire sculpture, all of which influence the depth and texture of her photographic compositions.
Susan Swanson, a former middle and high school teacher of 40 years, now finds joy and creative fulfillment in working with clay. Her ceramic work strikes a playful balance between realism and fantasy, offering pieces that are both whimsical and grounded in the natural world.
Together, Kathy and Susan offer a harmonious exploration of nature through contrasting yet complementary mediums—lens and clay—capturing the essence of life on land, in water, and in the air.
