Nathan Benderson Park and The Pops Orchestra Unite for Historic Fireworks on the Lake

Nathan Benderson Park and The Pops Orchestra of Bradenton and Sarasota are proud to announce the return of one of the Suncoast’s most beloved patriotic traditions: Fireworks on the Lake – America 250, a spectacular celebration taking place on July 3, 2026, at Nathan Benderson Park.

As America prepares to commemorate its 250th birthday, this year’s event promises to be the largest and most memorable in the celebration’s history. For nearly a decade, Fireworks on the Lake has served as the region’s premier Independence Day kickoff, welcoming more than 15,000 attendees annually for an evening filled with live entertainment, family activities, community spirit, and one of Southwest Florida’s most spectacular fireworks displays. 

This year’s historic celebration highlights an exciting collaboration between Nathan Benderson Park and The Pops Orchestra, bringing together two organizations deeply committed to enriching the Suncoast through community engagement, cultural experiences, and patriotic pride.

The Pops Orchestra is proud to serve as the Premier Sponsor with Nathan Benderson Park and featured musical guests for this year’s America 250 celebration on July 3rd. For over 50 years, The Pops has honored our nation’s veterans, military service members, and American traditions through powerful musical salutes that bring our communities together. This special performance will take audiences on a historical musical journey through America’s military and patriotic achievements over the past 250 years.


Gates will open at 5:00 p.m., welcoming guests to an evening of patriotic celebration and entertainment. Live music begins immediately with local favorite Sugar Vibe, performing from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

From 8:00 p.m. to 9:15 p.m., The Pops Orchestra will take the stage for a stirring patriotic concert celebrating America’s rich history and traditions. The performance will continue throughout the fireworks presentation, providing the live soundtrack to enhance the experience.

At 9:15 p.m., a spectacular fireworks display will launch from the center of the lake, illuminating the night sky in honor of America’s 250th anniversary, while The Pops Orchestra provides the patriotic music soundtrack, enhancing the entire experience. The fireworks show will run approximately 15 minutes.

The event will conclude at 9:30 p.m.
