Lakewood Ranch Medical Center Names New Chief Executive Officer

Lakewood Ranch Medical Center is pleased to announce the appointment of Jason Madsen, MBA, MHA, as Chief Executive Officer, effective July 1. In this role, Madsen will be responsible for the overall strategic leadership, operational performance, quality outcomes, physician relations, business development, financial stewardship, and continued advancement of patient-centered care for Lakewood Ranch Medical Center and the communities it serves.

Madsen joins Lakewood Ranch Medical Center from Texoma Medical Center (TMC) in Denison, Texas, where he most recently served as Interim Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer. He has been serving as COO at TMC since 2024 and most recently assumed the dual responsibilities of Interim CEO and COO.

“I am pleased to join the Lakewood Ranch Medical Center team,” said Madsen. “Lakewood Ranch Medical Center has built an outstanding reputation for delivering high-quality, compassionate, patient-centered care. I am excited to work alongside our talented physicians, nurses, employees and leadership team as we continue to build on that strong foundation. With the tremendous growth occurring throughout the region, there is an incredible opportunity to expand access to care, enhance the patient experience and further strengthen the hospital’s role as a trusted healthcare provider for our community. I look forward to leading the organization into its next chapter of success.”

Madsen has supported Universal Health Services (UHS) subsidiary facilities since 2017, when he joined Northwest Texas Healthcare System (NWTHS) as Associate Administrator. During his tenure at NWTHS, he also served as Interim Chief Operating Officer for much of 2019. In April 2020, he was promoted to Chief Operating Officer of Northern Nevada Health System, where he helped advance operational initiatives and support continued growth across the health system. After serving in an external healthcare leadership role in 2021, Madsen returned to UHS and later joined Texoma Medical Center.

Throughout his healthcare leadership career, Madsen has demonstrated a strong commitment to operational excellence, physician engagement, quality improvement and patient satisfaction. His experience leading complex healthcare organizations and driving strategic growth initiatives positions him to lead Lakewood Ranch Medical Center into the future.

Madsen earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management from Brigham Young University and a dual Master of Business Administration and Master of Health Administration from the University of Utah.

Lakewood Ranch Medical Center welcomes Jason Madsen and looks forward to his leadership as the organization continues its mission of providing exceptional healthcare services to the communities it proudly serves.
