Sister Cities Association of Sarasota and UTC Host Free Chinese Lunar New Year Celebration

Sister Cities Association of Sarasota and UTC invite you to celebrate the third annual Chinese Lunar New Year celebration on Tuesday, February 17th, from 7:00-9:00 PM at The Green-UTC. In 2026 we celebrate the year of the Horse. It is co-sponsored with University Town Center and located on The Green.  Last year 300 people were expected to show up, but 500 came instead, so we expect an even greater turnout this year.

Kun Shi, our City Director for China; and Miles Toder, our President; were just interviewed on ABC 7 to precede the event.

There will be vibrant cultural performances, such as dance groups, martial artists, and professional artists from Orlando. Traditional Chinese lion dancers will bring good fortune for the Year of the Horse. There will be hands-on cultural activities for all members of the family, with mini-lantern prizes awarded to participants.
