Island Gallery and Studios proudly presents our Featured Artist for May—Photographer David Tejada

Title: “Harmony: Lines, Shapes and Color”

Dates: Wednesday, May 1 — Friday, May 31, 2024

David Tejada states “I chose this theme because these 3 important elements — Lines, Shapes and Color are the foundations to strong graphic images. I invite viewers to see the world through a different perspective, to appreciate the inherent artistry in the world around us. My photographs are a testament to the power of observation and the joy of capturing the world’s graphic beauty. Photography, to me, is a dance with light and shadow, an exploration of patterns and contrasts, and a celebration of the fleeting moments that often go unnoticed.”

David is a very successful commercial photographer, having spent 40 years specializing in corporate and advertising photography in Denver, Colorado. Bradenton, Florida is his new home where he continues to shoot local assignments and pursue his fine art work as well.

Also an educator, David spent 9 years leading travel workshops around the world for Popular Photography Magazine. He has taught lighting workshops for Santa Fe Photographic Workshops, Maine Media Workshops as well as Gulf Photo Plus in Dubai UAE. David has taught his own lighting workshops “Small Strobes, Big Results” more than 75 times throughout Europe. RangeFinder Magazine calls David a Small Strobe Guru; Nikon has published more than 15 articles about David’s lighting skills and he has taught many Nikon Professional Services workshops around the county.

David is available for commissioned work — additional samples of his work can been seen at www.davidtejada.com
