SARASOTA PARADISE TO HOST ‘PINK IN PARADISE’ BREAST CANCER AWARENESS NIGHT ON OCTOBER 10
USL League One club partners with Florida Breast Cancer Foundation for special matchday event supporting breast cancer awareness, screening and fundraising
Sarasota Paradise will turn Premier Sports Campus pink on Saturday, October 10, when the club hosts Richmond Kickers for Pink in Paradise, a special Breast Cancer Awareness Night dedicated to honoring survivors, supporting those currently fighting breast cancer, and raising awareness throughout the local community.
The initiative will see Sarasota Paradise partner with the Florida Breast Cancer Foundation, a statewide nonprofit at the forefront of Florida’s fight against breast cancer for more than 30 years through research, education, and advocacy. Funds raised through Pink in Paradise will directly benefit Sarasota and Manatee Counties.
Sarasota Paradise will donate a portion of every ticket sold in the East Stand for the October 10 match to the Florida Breast Cancer Foundation, providing another way for supporters attending the game to contribute to the campaign.
Fans and members of the community can support the initiative ahead of the game by making a donation through the dedicated Pink in Paradise fundraising page.
Pink in Paradise will extend beyond the 90 minutes on the field, with a series of activities planned to raise awareness and provide practical support to the local community.
A Mammolink mobile mammography bus will be on site at Premier Sports Campus from 3:30 p.m., providing screenings ahead of the 7:30 p.m. kickoff. Appointments will be available in advance, with walk-ups also accepted.
The evening will also feature opportunities for supporters to recognize those affected by breast cancer through a “Who Do You Wear Pink For?” activation, while the Florida Breast Cancer Foundation will have an on-site presence to share information about its work and resources.
Sarasota Paradise players will wear the club’s Downtown Modern third kit for the match, while supporters are encouraged to wear pink and help create a “Pink Out” throughout Premier Sports Campus.
Ray Smetanick, Vice President of Soccer Operations at Sarasota Paradise, said: “Pink in Paradise is about using our platform to bring our community together around an issue that touches so many families. We want October 10 to be a night where we celebrate survivors, stand alongside those currently fighting breast cancer, and remember those we have lost.
“We hope our supporters will embrace the night and help to raise funds and awareness that can make a real difference here.”
Karen Patti, Executive Director of the Florida Breast Cancer Foundation, said: “We are incredibly grateful to see the community come together through Pink in Paradise to raise awareness and stand with those impacted by breast cancer.
“Events like this are about so much more than wearing pink. They create conversations, build community, and help us continue our work supporting breast cancer education, research, advocacy, and direct services across all 67 counties in Florida. We’re proud to be part of an event that turns awareness into meaningful action.”
Sarasota Paradise kicks off against Richmond Kickers at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 10 at Premier Sports Campus. Tickets are available at tickets.sarasotaparadise.us.
Supporters who cannot attend the game can still contribute directly to the campaign through the dedicated Florida Breast Cancer Foundation donation page.
