“Summer is a time for kids to play and have fun – not a time to feel hungry,” said Maribeth Phillips, President & CEO of Meals on Wheels PLUS of Manatee. “We are so grateful to Suncoast Credit Union for their continued support of this program that gets critical nutrition to families, especially those living in high-need areas of our community,” she added.
“Food is a basic need and serving as the bridge between those in need and those who provide service is an honor and a privilege” said Jeff Kunberger, Executive Director of Suncoast Foundations. “This donation is core to our mission and we all sleep better knowing that those in need are better cared for,” he added.
Suncoast Credit Union, Florida’s largest credit union, founded the Suncoast Credit Union Foundation to promote the education, health and emotional well-being of children in the community. Each time a Suncoast member uses their debit or credit card, the credit union donates two cents to the Foundation to fund local initiatives. Since its inception in 1990, the Foundation has raised and donated over $45 million.
