Take Stock in Children Manatee Receives $10,000 Grant from BofA to Support Local Student Success
Take Stock in Children Manatee County is proud to announce a $10,000 grant from Bank of America aimed at expanding high-impact college readiness, mentorship, and support programs for underserved local students.
This critical funding directly advances Take Stock Manatee’s mission to transform lives and break the generational cycle of poverty through education. The grant will enable the organization to enhance its academic coaching resources, scale volunteer mentor recruitment, and provide comprehensive college and career prep services to low-income, high-potential students enrolled across Manatee County public schools.
“Bank of America’s investment in our youth comes at a vital time for our community,” said Anne LeBaron, CEO of Take Stock in Children Manatee. “This partnership allows us to expand our footprint, pair more deserving students with dedicated adult mentors, and ensure that every scholar in our program has the guidance, resources, and confidence needed to graduate high school and succeed in post-secondary education.”
Take Stock in Children operates a proven college-success model. Qualifying students who maintain good grades, exhibit positive behavior, and meet regularly with their volunteer mentors are awarded a Florida Prepaid College scholarship upon high school graduation.
“Students benefit when they have consistent mentorship and practical support as they prepare for college and careers,” said Jamie Kahns, market executive, Bank of America Sarasota/Manatee. “Take Stock in Children Manatee helps local students build the skills, confidence, and plans they need for what comes next.”
With Bank of America’s support, Take Stock Manatee will continue to bridge educational equity gaps, boost local high school graduation rates, and pave clear pathways to post-secondary degrees and long-term career success for Manatee County youth.
