Food Bank of Manatee to Provide Free Thanksgiving Turkeys With All the Trimmings to 750 Local Families
The Food Bank of Manatee, a PLUS program of Meals on Wheels PLUS of Manatee, will be hosting a Thanksgiving meal distribution on Monday, November 24, 2025, which will include frozen turkeys, canned vegetables, and all the trimmings for 750 local families to prepare a traditional holiday meal at home.
“Due to the recent SNAP benefit shutdown, we expect the demand to be substantially higher than in previous years. More local families will be turning to The Food Bank of Manatee as their primary source of food,” said Maribeth Phillips, President & CEO of Meals on Wheels PLUS of Manatee which operates The Food Bank of Manatee. “We are preparing for that increased need, but additional community support will be essential to keep up,” she added.
**Due to the anticipated high demand, the drive-through Thanksgiving meal distribution has been relocated this year to Dream Church located at 1820 53rd Avenue West, Bradenton, Florida, 34207 from 4:00pm-6:00pm on Monday, November 24, 2025. Quantities are limited and will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Time is subject to change.
As an independent food bank, The Food Bank of Manatee relies 100% on the support of the community to feed those in need in Manatee County.
