The Salvation Army of Manatee County Announces Transition in Overnight Shelter Services for Single Women
The Salvation Army of Manatee County announces that, effective immediately, new single women seeking overnight shelter will be directed to Gateway South Women’s Shelter, our community partner located at 407 57th Avenue East, Bradenton, FL 34205. This transition allows us to better align our services with available resources while ensuring women experiencing homelessness are connected to appropriate and supportive housing options within the community.
The Salvation Army of Manatee County will continue to provide overnight shelter for single women who are enrolled in our HOT Bed Program and Veterans Program. In addition, we will continue to serve women who come to us and are unable to reach the new shelter in time to access services, ensuring no one is left without immediate support.
Bus routes and transportation information to Gateway South will be provided to all individuals referred to help ensure continued access to shelter and essential support services. For information about Gateway South Women’s Shelter, including intake hours and availability intake, please contact them directly at 941-263-3555.
For additional information or questions regarding this transition, please contact Paul Fowler, Director of Social Services, at 941-748-5110 or via email at Paul.Fowler@uss.salvationarmy.org.
The Salvation Army of Manatee County remains committed to serving our most vulnerable neighbors with dignity, compassion, and care, and to working collaboratively with community partners to ensure no one is left without support.
