SALVATION ARMY OF MANATEE COUNTY OPENING TEMPORARY WARMING STATION AND SHELTER FROM THE COLD

Due to the upcoming expected cold weather, The Salvation Army of Manatee County will be opening its shelter at 1204 14th Street West, Bradenton, FL 34205 as a temporary warming station and shelter on Monday, January 26, 2026, with anticipated guest departure Thursday, January 29th with normal procedures for checking in and out. There will be a limited number of shelter beds available to those in need.

We need and gladly accept blankets, pillowcases, towels, and wash clothes as donations.

“With cold weather settling in, The Salvation Army is prepared to provide warmth and shelter to those experiencing homelessness,” said Paul Fowler Director of Social Services. “We welcome and encourage people to stop in and stay awhile.”

In a time when many individuals and families are facing hardship, The Salvation Army remains dedicated to providing support and hope to our neighbors in need. We are thankful for the generous donors and volunteers who help make this possible.

The Salvation Army, an evangelical part of the universal Christian church established in London in 1865, has been supporting those in need in His name without discrimination for more than 130 years in the United States. Nearly 27 million Americans receive assistance from The Salvation Army each year through a broad array of social services that range from providing food for the hungry, relief for disaster victims, assistance for the disabled, outreach to the elderly and ill, clothing and shelter to the homeless and opportunities for underprivileged children. Exactly 82 cents of every dollar The Salvation Army spends is used to support those services in 5,000 communities nationwide.
